INTCOMEX WARRANTY POLICY
 
All products sold by Intcomex Jamaica are covered under two types of warranties: SUPPLIER WARANTY or MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.

Supplier/ Replacement Warranty - Through its RMA department, Intcomex Jamaica provides its resellers with a replacement for defective products not covered under the Manufacturer's/ Repair warranty. (See RMA policy below)

The Supplier's warranty covers only manufacturer defects and excludes goods subject to abuse, wear and tear, accidents, alterations, improper handling, misuse, burns, and unauthorized installation or repair.

During the warranty period, which begins on the date of reseller’s purchase, the Reseller will be provided with a replacement product if the defect is confirmed to be a manufacturer defect and not a result of user fault.

Supplier’s warranty period: Standard one-year warranty, excluding special orders and generic cell phones (see warranty exceptions).

Manufacturer/ Repair Warranty - During the warranty period, the Manufacturer, in a reasonable time, remedy the defect free of charge by repairing the defective product through an Authorized Service Centre (ASC). An end-user proof of purchase invoice must be submitted to the ASC bearing serial number and the product description.

Goods or parts that have been subject to abuse, misuse, accident, alteration, neglect, unauthorized repair, or installation are not covered by a warranty. The Authorized Service Centre shall make the final determination as to the existence and cause of any alleged defect.

Manufacturer’s warranty period: Standard one-year repair warranty (with exceptions)

A Direct Manufacturer warranty offered by vendors such as Hewlett Packard (HP), requires the end-user to contact the manufacturer's technical support to diagnose the problem and provide the necessary case number and solution.

A SWAP warranty requires the end-user to email or call the manufacturer's technical support to diagnose the problem and, if necessary, provide the required case number before the product can be replaced.

WARRANTY EXPECTIONS

Special Orders
Special Order Items are non-refundable, however is covered under warranty for manufacturer defects with a limited warranty of 90 days.

Generic Mobile Phones

We offer a 60-day repair warranty on mobile phones beginning on the date of purchase by the end-user. Only malfunctions due to manufacturing defects are covered by the warranty.
Limitations and Exclusions
The warranty will be invalid in the following cases.

  • Abnormal use, misuse, or improper storage.
  • Handsets are exposed to excessive temperature, breakage, liquids, moisture, dampness, steam, heavy sweat, high voltage, or other such environmental conditions.
  • Unauthorized repair and accessories.
  • Repairing the handsets without authorization.

Epson Projectors

Epson’s one year warranty does not extend to projector accessories such as lamps and optical engines. A limited warranty of 90 days is offered on these items.

RMA POLICY

  • No RMA replacement for consumables.
  • No returns on opened goods/packages
  • A 25% restocking fee will be charged on all unopened items returned 2 days after the purchase date.
  • Replacements must be collected within 7 days. Intcomex RMA department will not be responsible for any item not collected after 7 days.
  • Intcomex’ s warranty policy covers only parts sold, as such Intcomex is not obligated to troubleshoot any assembled computer brought in for problems. If we choose to take on such responsibility, a minimum service charge of $2,500.00 plus GCT will be applied.

Intcomex RMA department does not accept items returned with PHYSICAL DAMAGE caused by:

  • Scratches
  • Burns
  • Misuse
  • Improper Handling
  • Abuse
  • Accident
  • Alteration
  • Neglect
  • Unauthorized Repair or Installation
